The situation
MOD Fan is building a platform where fans submit work for official licensing by brands. Every submission has to respect that brand’s guidelines before it is approved.
What was hard
Submissions can arrive in large bursts. Brands will not hand approval to an AI, but they cannot review every raw submission by hand either.
What Pratyank did
- Built the core backend services with queue-based async processing, so submission spikes don’t block the platform.
- Designed AI-assisted screening that checks each submission against brand guidelines.
- Kept a person in the loop: brand partners approve or reject, using the AI’s assessment as a starting point.
What changed
Brands review a pre-screened queue instead of raw submissions, and the platform is built to scale with launches and campaigns. A review process that would take weeks by hand now takes minutes.
